Former Mirvac boss to sell $11m Killara home with tennis court
Former Mirvac chief executive officer Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz and her husband Stuart Lloyd-Hurwitz have listed their upper north shore Sydney home for $10 million to $11 million, local sources say, after holding it for more than a decade.
Records show the couple bought the six-bedroom, four-bathroom house with a tennis court and pool in Killara for $3.55 million in 2013 from Joseph Healy , the co-founder and former chief executive officer of Judo Bank, and his wife Susan .
The couple enlisted Tribe Studio Architects to renovate the two-storey property built around 1923.
Situated on 1720 square metres, the residence has timber floorboards, vaulted ceilings, skylights, statement lighting and a neutral palette. Bi-fold doors lead to the pool, tennis court and garden.
Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz has wide experience in the global investment and real estate sectors. In October 2022, Mirvac announced her retirement from Mirvac on 30 June 2023, where she was chief executive officer and managing director for a decade.
Now sitting on the board of Macquarie Group Limited, Lloyd-Hurwitz is also a non-executive director of Rio Tinto, and chair of the Australian National Housing Supply and Affordability Council.
Her previous roles include managing director of Europe for LaSalle Investment Management, national president for the Property Council of Australia, a director of the Business Council of Australia, and chair of the Green Building Council of Australia.
Stuart Lloyd-Hurwitz is a director of Elp Strategy, a consulting firm for corporate clients.
Scott Farquhar and Wendy Wenjing Xu of Sydney Sotheby’s International Realty are selling the home and both declined to comment on any aspect of the listing when contacted.
The former home of late Australian artist Charles Blackman in Sydney’s Woollahra, that has been reimagined by its current vendors, is for sale with a buyer’s guide of $10 million, as stated on the listing.
Blackman, who died in 2018 and was a renowned figurative painter best known for his Alice in Wonderland series in the 1950s, sold the property with his ex-wife Barbara Blackman , a celebrated writer and arts advocate, for $1.22 million in 1994. There have been multiple vendors since.
Simon Lightbody and Tessa Chirnside , co-founders of Rhodian, an underwriting company that works alongside agencies, brokers and insurer partners, bought the three-level, four-bedroom, four-bathroom abode for $4.3 million in 2020, records show.
Approved DA plans lodged with council reveal alterations and additions to the existing dwelling, including a new kitchen, porch, master ensuite, staircase, garage and mud room, with an estimated cost of $736,246.
The couple enlisted Kaiko Design Interiors and Hampton Architecture to transform the facade and interiors into a bold palette of blush, terracotta and sage.
