Steffie Waters takes fiancé Isaac Heeney off the grid in cryptic social media move
Isaac Heeney’s fiancée Steffie Waters has sparked an online stir after taking the suspended Sydney vice-captain “off the grid” on her Instagram page.
Waters’ relationship with Heeney has been the constant source of speculation after Heeney became the face of a police investigation and sexual assault allegations following the club’s Round 23 clash against Essendon in Melbourne.
Just over a week ago, Waters removed a pinned picture of herself with Heeney celebrating their engagement from October last year.
Now all pictures of Heeney have been removed from her Instagram grid, although Heeney is still buried in some carousels.
It was reported last month that the pair are still in a relationship although split rumours started to swirl when Waters was seen at Noosa without an engagement ring.
Later, however, a person close to Waters told News Corp that the ring had been taken to a jeweller because a stone had fallen out.
Despite some reports, Waters hasn’t posted since the Pullman Hotel scandal broke last month, but she has edited several posts, changed captions and re-ordered photos.
Curiously she has also pinned a post from 2023, which shows vision of lions mauling a carcass and hunting a gazelle.
It is unclear the meaning of the freshly pinned post and who or what the lion represents.
He had boasted 115,000 followers before the account was seemingly deleted or suspended at the end of August .
Heeney and the other banned players (Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, James Jordon and Riley Bice) are speaking to their teammates today (Wednesday).
The five players were all suspended by the club for breaching club standards, a separate punishment that is outside of the police investigation into sexual assault allegations.
No charges have been laid by police and 7NEWS is not suggesting any criminal wrongdoing by any of the players interviewed.
Swans coach Dean Cox has confirmed the banned players’ return to headquarters for exit meetings.
