Ticketmaster seizes Olivia Rodrigo tickets from scalpers and puts them back on sale at face value

Ticketmaster has moved to clean up the chaos around Olivia Rodrigo’s The Unraveled Tour, announcing that it has taken back tickets snapped up by scalpers and is returning them directly to fans at face value.

The company says the reclaimed seats broke the rules of the sale and are now being redistributed at the prices originally set by the tour.

Fans who missed out the first time are being prioritised. The request window closes Friday (21.08.26) at 11.59pm ET, and Ticketmaster is urging fans to submit their details before the deadline. The company says the process is designed to give genuine buyers a fair shot after weeks of frustration over inflated resale prices.

Ticketmaster explained the move in a detailed social media post, describing the reclaimed tickets as purchases “that broke the rules of the sales and are being released directly back to fans, at the original prices set by the tour.” The company also laid out the steps fans must follow to request tickets, stressing that submitting a request does not guarantee seats.

Fans must choose their preferred shows, enter payment information, and submit a single request. Ticketmaster may place a $1 temporary hold on cards, which will be released if the request is unsuccessful. If selected, fans will be charged automatically once the window closes. Confirmation emails will be sent after submission, though Ticketmaster warns they may take time to arrive.

Successful fans will receive a status update on Friday, August 28. Those who are not selected will not receive an email, but can check their status on the “My Request” page.

There are strict rules. Fans can request up to four tickets per event for a maximum of two events per country, totalling four shows across the U.S. and Canada. Only one request per account is allowed. Submitting multiple requests or using multiple accounts will result in cancellation. Payment methods must be current, as declined cards void the request.

Alongside the reclaimed tickets, fans will also be able to request $25 “Silver Star” tickets starting September 1 at 3.00pm EST, offering another low‑cost option for those still trying to secure seats.

All tickets released through the programme will be sold at the original tour price, a move Ticketmaster says is aimed at restoring fairness after widespread scalping. Fans can submit requests now through Ticketmaster.
