Famous Bali beach club Finns criticised after viral vid of ‘disgusting’ sunset pool party
One of Bali’s most famous venues has been branded as a “second layer of hell” after viral footage showed drunk revellers packed into an overcrowded pool.
Finns Beach Club, located on Berawa Beach in Canggu, is one of the most famous destinations on the Indonesian holiday hotspot.
It’s known for its sprawling oceanfront location, its pools and bars, and the daily sunset parties it hosts for eager travellers.
A clip highlighting one of these sunset parties has gained international attention over the past fortnight — but not for positive reasons.
Travel influencer Kris Diandro, who is based on the Indonesian island, shared a video of a sunset party at the famous Balinese club in early August.
In the clip, hundreds of shirtless tourists are seen crammed tightly in an outdoor pool with little space between them.
Partiers are seen splashing around the pool, dancing and embracing each other as music blared across the venue.
While the video was shared to encourage tourists to “book a flight to Bali”, it quickly went viral as Aussies were left speechless at the ‘nightmarish’ cramped conditions revellers experienced.
The post amassed 700,000 views in less than a fortnight — with thousands flooding the comments to share their disgust at the crowded scene.
“This is a sign to stay away from Bali,” another potential tourist wrote.
“Truly a wide-awake nightmare,” a third commenter wrote, while another said: “I couldn’t think of a worse way to enjoy Bali.”
One Aussie had a simple statement for the partygoers seen in the video: “Drunk tourists like you are destroying Bali.”
Others commenters joked about the state of the water in the clip, with many expressing worries that partiers were using the outdoor pool as a toilet.
Several Aussies also blamed the chaotic scene on the rise of digital nomads heading to the Indonesian hot spot.
