Cindy Crawford ‘heartbroken’ after son Presley Gerber, 27, dies following apparent overdose in Santa Monica

Cindy Crawford has been left “heartbroken” and in complete shock following the sudden death of her 27-year-old son, Presley Gerber.

Gerber, the son of supermodel Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on Sunday following an apparent overdose and cardiac arrest.

Police records reportedly show emergency services received a call relating to an overdose in the Santa Monica area on Sunday morning, with the dispatch also noting cardiac arrest.

A source close to Crawford said the 60-year-old was struggling to comprehend the devastating loss.

“Cindy is completely in shock over Presley’s devastating death. She is heartbroken.”

Gerber’s younger sister, model and actress Kaia Gerber, is also mourning her brother as the family reels from his sudden death.

Another source close to Kaia said the family remained “in total shock”.

“Kaia loved that Presley was so open about his struggles; his family was so proud that he was finding strength in helping others.”

Gerber had previously spoken publicly about his experiences with mental health and substance abuse, saying he hoped being candid about his own struggles could prevent others from making similar “mistakes”.

During an appearance on the Studio 22 podcast, he explained that helping even one person through a difficult period would make sharing his experiences worthwhile.

“Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do.”

Gerber said supporting others dealing with mental health and other personal struggles had become an important focus in his life.
