Keen for a spring running goal? New Balance and KIC launch new Run Together Challenge for every kind of distance
As the days get longer and it gets a little easier to work out first thing, you wouldn’t be alone if you’re thinking of setting yourself some sort of fitness or running goal.
This month, KIC and New Balance are teaming up to launch the Run Together 3/5/10 Challenge , the next evolution of KICRun.
The new initiative will support Aussies over eight weeks as they work towards running 3km, 5km or 10km, meaning there’s something for everyone — whether you’re just getting started with running, or you’re a seasoned pro.
Joining KIC founders Steph Claire Smith and Laura Henshaw is an iconic and inspiring line-up of run coaches: think G Flip, Brooke Blurton, Luke Bateman, Annabelle Lee, Allira Potter and Matty Johnson.
Each one brings their unique personality, hype and their own relationship with running to the table, as they cheer on the community through KIC’s new 3km, 5km and 10km Challenge.
Built to be flexible and inclusive from the ground up, members can pick their distance and move at whatever pace feels right for them.
The challenge has been launched in collaboration with New Balance , and it’s powered by the New Balance Ellipse ($240), an everyday running shoe that’s perfect for getting started.
When it comes to the shoe itself, the Ellipse combines the unparalleled comfort of Fresh Foam X cushioning with a bouncy underfoot feeling, designed to make your daily run the most enjoyable part of your day, every day.
With an engineered mesh upper that is lightweight and breathable, the shoes are supportive and comfortable, meaning you’ll always be persuaded to head out.
“I’m proud that we’re bringing in such a diverse group of coaches, each with their own story and relationship with running,” co-founder of KIC Steph Claire Smith said in a statement.
“I love that our community will be able to resonate and see a bit of themselves in each of our coaches.
“It’s a reminder that running is so unique to us all. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Showing up and running your way is what counts.”
Co-founder Laura Henshaw added: “Running shouldn’t feel like an elite club where you have to hit a certain pace or distance to be part of it.
“We’ve built this concept to give people the tools and support to remind them that running is genuinely for them.”
