Ka Ying Rising camp close to ‘s*** myself’ levels with Randwick track update for Everest
Nerves will be jangling inside the Ka Ying Rising camp following the latest track update from Royal Randwick .
The Hong Kong champion is out to go back-to-back in Saturday’s $20 million Everest , but legendary trainer David Hayes has made it abundantly clear he’s very worried about a heavy track.

However, on Friday morning Randwick was indeed rated a Heavy 8 ... with more rain expected, albeit only light.
There has been 21.6 millimetres of rainfall in Sydney in the past 24 hours and the weekly total on Friday morning was at 99 millimetres.
The rails is in the three-metre position which was the same position as last year, when Ka Ying Rising won the Group 1 race.
Race organisers are hoping an easterly breeze will help dry out the track, and sun and 30km/h winds tomorrow are also expected to help.
Ka Ying Rising remains a $1.50 favourite for the Everest despite landing in a wide gate in Tuesday night’s barrier draw .
While Hayes was not overly fussed about drawing Gate 11, he was concerned about the state of the track.
“Five, six and seven I can tolerate, Heavy 8 I’d start to worry, Heavy 9 I’d shit myself,” Hayes said after the draw.
“No one does really, unless you’re proven on it ... and we know he’s not.
“But I am sure on a dead and a slow, I won’t be using that as an excuse.”
Ka Ying Rising’s main threats Tempted, Joliestar and Jimmysstar have drawn gates 1, 5 and 8 respectively, the well-credentialled Ninja will start from barrier three, and the speedy Blue Door is coming out of Gate 9.
Last year, Ka Ying Rising won the Everest from Gate 7, which was considered the perfect barrier.
