CCTV images released after women allegedly targeted on walking trails in Sydney’s Northern Beaches

Police have released CCTV images after a string of sexual offences were allegedly committed against women at popular walking tracks in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Officers allege three separate incidents were reported in the Narrabeen area between October 7 and October 8.

“In each incident, a male allegedly approached women on walking trails, sexually touched them and then rode away on an e-bike,” a police statement read.

The man also made inappropriate sexual comments during one of the alleged incidents.

Since the alleged incidents were reported, police received a report that a woman was walking along Narrabeen Lagoon near South Creek Rd in Wheelers Heights about 4.30pm on October 1, when she was approached by an unknown man.

On Monday October 12, between 5pm and 5.30pm, two further women reported walking along Narrabeen Lagoon neat Bilarong Reserve when they were sexually touched by a man on an e-bike.

The state’s sex crime squad have since established Strike Force Mexvo, with detectives releasing CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with officers’ inquiries.

The man depicted in the CCTV footage is described as of being of caucasian appearance, believed to be aged under 25 years, about 175cm tall and of medium build.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
