Finns Beach Club: Iconic Canggu venue announces tiny dancing humanoid robots to join entertainment line-up

A beloved beach club in Bali is officially entering the high tech age, thanks to their latest entertainment announcement.

Finns Beach Club in Canggu has solidified themselves as one of the top party spots for Aussie tourists visiting the Indonesian island due to their daily sunset parties and sprawling beachfront location.

Last week, the club announced they would be upgrading their entertainment scene by adding tiny dancing humanoid robots to their venue in a new partnership with US-based AI company Botshift.

The owners behind Finns have promised that the new robotic additions would see robot-versus-human dance offs hitting the club, with there also being plenty of opportunities for travellers to nab a selfie with the droids.

Finns Bali global chief executive Beau Whittington revealed the AI dancers would start their daily performances at the venue from mid-September.

“We wanted to do something playful and unexpected that hasn’t been seen here before,” Mr Whittington said in a statement.

“These robots aren’t sitting behind glass at a technology showcase — they’re right in the middle of Finns, interacting with guests, dancing, performing, and becoming a part of the entertainment.”

He had stressed that the robot dancers would not be taking any jobs from their current human entertainers, with Mr Whittington telling news.com.au that “they will be dancing alongside our talented pool of dancers to add another element”.

Botshift CEO Alex Ronalds said the club’s announcement made Bali one of the only places where travellers could interact with the humanoid robots.

“Indonesia is one of the first countries where you can walk in off the street and meet a humanoid robot with genuine character,” he said.

“Together with Finns, we’re showing the world what live entertainment looks like in the age of physical AI.”

Although the new robotic line-up is historic, they won’t be the first robots to grace the beach club.

In 2025, Finns Beach Club introduced an eco-friendly robot named BeBot — a small car-shaped robot who works to clean rubbish and plastic from Balinese beaches.

The venue also teased that the army of dancing robots was only the beginning of their plans, with Mr Whittington telling tourists there was “plenty more” tech hitting the beach club within the next 12 months.
