Ariana Grande ditches high heels after suffering 'deep cut'

Ariana Grande has ditched high heels for her upcoming London shows after suffering a "deep cut".

The 33-year-old pop star warned fans she would be wearing "cosy" footwear for her concert at London's O2 Arena on Monday night (31.08.26) as she prepares to wrap up her Eternal Sunshine Tour with one final performance at the venue on Tuesday (01.09.26) - and the singer explained she'd suffered an injury which has left her struggling to put weight on one foot.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "My sweet petals, I wanted to let you know I will need to be in cozy footwear for this evening’s show (and possibly tomorrow’s) as I am bandaged up underneath, recovering from a minor injury.

"It is not a sprain or anything muscular but just a deep cut! So when you see me tonight without my signature heels, or even possibly having a little trouble putting weight on that foot, that is why!

"But please do not fret. On with the show and I am on the mend! I cannot wait to perform for you tonight and tomorrow (even if I am a few inches shorter than usual) … I love you always."

Ariana is planning to step out of the spotlight after she wraps the tour with a spokesperson confirming the singer will be taking a break from work and has dropped out of plans to appear alongside Jonathan Bailey in a production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George at London’s Barbican.

A representative for Ariana said: “She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.

"This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much."

Ariana later insisted her decision to step back from public life after her Eternal Sunshine tour was made "a long time ago".

Speaking during a show at Chicago’s United Center in August, she told the audience: "Can we get a little real tonight? The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing.

"It is something that I had decided to plan. It was a thoughtful decision. It was an empowering decision. I made it quietly, a long time ago."

Ariana also dismissed claims criticism on social media about her body had forced her into taking a break.

She said: "No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or be more real to me… as this love that we share."
