Man trapped under van, fighting for life after alleged hit-and-run in Carlingford
A driver has been arrested after an alleged hit-and-run in Sydney’s northwest, trapping a man underneath a van with life-threatening injuries.
A 34-year-old man was allegedly hit by a Nissan van on Ferndale Ave near Edinburgh Ave in Carlingford about 12.30pm Sunday.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian trapped underneath the van, and worked to free him.
The 34-year-old pedestrian was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
Police allege the driver of the van fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian.
The driver, a 29-year-old man, was found by police in the nearby bushland and taken to Castle Hill police station.
A crime scene has been established, with the crash investigation unit launching an investigation into the incident.
