Isla Fisher reveals the upside of single life
The 50-year-old actress stars alongside Leslie Mann, Anna Faris, and Michelle Buteau in Spa Weekend, the new comedy film, and the star-studded cast have been reflecting on their off-screen friendships.
Speaking to People, Anna explained: "We’re at a time in our lives where there isn’t room for nurturing female friendships. There’s no time.
"If you have those high school friends or whatever, your friends that you can trust, that you depend on. Can I hang out with you in a decade when the kid graduates?"
Isla - who was married to comedy star Sacha Baron Cohen between 2010 and 2025 - then pointed out that she's in a very different space to some of her co-stars.
The movie star - who has three children with her ex-husband - said: "I mean, speak for yourself. I’m divorced, so all I do is see friends!"
The actress also revealed that she's found a great work-life balance in recent times.
She shared: "I feel really grateful to be working. I feel really grateful to be a woman of my age in the business. And I’m really happy to be in a movie like this."
Last year, Isla described her split from Sacha as the "most difficult thing" she's been through in her life.
The actress announced in 2024 that she was separating from the comedy star - but she admitted that the process was very difficult.
Isla - who has Olive, 18, Elula, 15, and Montgomery, 11, with Sacha - told The Sunday Times newspaper: "I’ve learned so much about myself in the process. I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents."
Isla shared: "Kids are the most important thing, and you want them to really feel safe and loved. We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible."
