Glue Store set to reopen as Brand Collective buys collapsed youth fashion brand
Glue Store is set for a comeback just three months after permanently shutting down, with Australian fashion group Brand Collective acquiring the youth retailer and planning new stores.
Brand Collective announced on Tuesday it had bought Glue Store, online marketplace The DOM and Australian activewear label Running Bare as part of a three-brand acquisition.
The group plans to relaunch Glue with an updated brand range, improved digital experience and new stores.
Glue permanently closed its stores and online operation in June after former owner Accent Group announced earlier this year the loss-making business would be wound down or sold.
The retailer recorded an $8.4m earnings before interest and tax loss in the first-half of the 2026 financial year, including provisions for its closure.
Brand Collective said the acquisitions of Glue Store and The DOM would also establish a new multibrand marketplace division within the group.
The company plans to expand The DOM into a broader online destination spanning fashion, footwear and lifestyle products.
Running Bare, the Australian activewear label founded in 1983, will retain its identity while gaining access to Brand Collective’s retail, e-commerce, wholesale, marketing and operational capabilities.
Brand Collective chief executive David Thomas said the company saw significant potential across the three businesses.
“These acquisitions demonstrate Brand Collective’s ongoing evolution and innovation as a business,” Mr Thomas said.
“Brand Collective has considerable experience in taking brands to new levels of success, and we see enormous potential across all three.”
Further details about Brand Collective’s plans for Glue Store, The DOM and Running Bare will be announced in coming months.
