Swimmer dead, another rescued after pair get into trouble at Marley Beach in Sydney’s south
A swimmer has died and another has been rescued after the pair got into trouble in the water in Sydney’s south.
Emergency services were called to Marley Beach in Marley about 12.50pm on Thursday following reports two swimmers were struggling in the water.
An urgent search was launched, and a 20-year-old man was found after waves washed him back towards the shore.
He was pulled from the water and treated at the scene before being winched out by the Toll Rescue Helicopter Service.
A short time later, officers from the Marine Area Command found the body of a 50-year-old man in the water.
