How, where, and when you can pre-order an iPhone 18 models or Duo in Australia

Christmas for Apple fans has officially arrived in the form of the iPhone 18.

Last week Apple launched three handsets in the iPhone 18 range — iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and iPhone Duo.

Below we’ll tell you exactly how, where and when you can pre-order Apple’s latest iPhone range and which telcos are offering them on a plan, if you prefer to stagger your payments.

There are two ways to get a new iPhone, either purchase it outright or secure a device on a phone plan. The first option means you own it outright sooner rather than later but the second option is more wallet-friendly.

Pre-orders for an outright device from the iPhone 18 range are open now ahead of the official release date of September 18, 2026. You can purchase your new iPhone by heading to Apple’s Australian website or its Amazon storefront.

However, if you’re after Apple’s first-ever foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, pre-orders start on October 16 at 11pm AEDT ahead of an October 23 release date.

As with every other year, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone are the only telcos offering the iPhone 18 range on a plan. If you want to pair your newest Apple phone with a different telco besides the Big Three, you will need to buy your device outright.

Below we have broken out phone plans from Telstra, Optus and Vodafone across the 256GB iPhone 18 models across both 24 and 36-month repayment terms, sorted by lowest price first for added convenience:

Here are Vodafone, Optus and Telstra’s cheapest plans for the iPhone 18 Pro 256GB on a 36-month repayment term:

Note: the iPhone Duo device isn’t available on a plan or outright until October 23. However, the starting price you’ll pay for an outright iPhone Duo device is $3,499.
