Niall Horan asks fans to help him decide set list for new tour

Niall Horan has asked his fans to help him decide the setlist for his Dinner Party tour.

The former One Direction star is hitting the road for Dinner Party: Live On Tour, which kicks off on September 22, and admitted it’s been a struggle choosing which songs to play for his devotees - who he affectionately calls “lovers”.

He took to his Instagram page to make the unique request, as he said he’s found it hard to narrow down tour tunes, especially considering what he has released so far.

Niall wrote: “Lovers! I’m almost done with the tour setlist but it’s gotten so much tougher with 4 albums now so I need your help.”

The post included a link to a voting page, on which fans could vote for the songs they’d like to see Niall play live.

Once they click on the page, they’re invited to choose 20 tunes they’d like Niall to include on the tour - with an option to scroll through his catalogue or search for a specific song.

Upon finding a song they’d like to hear on stage, they can check a box next to it - thereby adding it to their suggested setlist.

Niall has released four solo albums to date - Flicker in 2017, Heartbreak Weather in 2020, The Show in 2023 and Dinner Party this year.

All of the records have made it to the top 10 of the prestigious Billboard 200 chart.

With Dinner Party, Niall explained during an interview with NME that he wanted it to sound “way more live” than his previous offerings, after being inspired by singers such as Damien Rice.

He said: ““I think pop music for a long time was very compressed – you know, a very drum machine sound. But I feel like since Covid, really, everyone is kind of leaning towards a more live sound, which I’ve been waiting for to be honest, because all of my influences are very live-sounding in their recordings.

“All Damien Rice’s recordings sound like they were just done in his living room, and I wanted to try and get that across and in how we recorded this time.”
