Mother stabbed, 10-year-old son punched in random attack outside police HQ
A 10-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after he was attacked by a man with a pair of scissors in Melbourne’s CBD.
A woman who was with the boy at the time of the attack and tried to intervene was stabbed in the upper body.
Police said they were called to Spencer Street, near the La Trobe Street intersection, about 1pm, and arrested a 27-year-old Sunshine man.
The 10-year-old from the Bass Coast area and the 30-year-old from Phillip Island had non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The man will be interviewed by police, whose investigation into the incident continues.
