From neighbourhood bakeries to hidden gems: Here are some of the American Express Shop Small businesses you can discover across Australia
There’s plenty to discover in your own neighbourhood. Across Australia, small businesses are serving up everything from great food and fresh produce to beauty treatments and specialty finds — giving you plenty of reasons to explore locally.
Now in its 14th year, the Amex Shop Small initiative backs and celebrates small businesses across Australia, and encourages consumers to spend in their local communities.
This year, Amex is providing even more support to help small businesses grow, innovate and support their local communities with a share of up to AUD $2 million in grants available via the Amex Shop Small Grants program until 6 September 2026.*
The program will provide an initial $1 million — with $20,000 grants to 50 small business owners across Australia.
Plus, for every eligible Amex Card transaction that was made at an eligible Shop Small business between 1 - 7 August 2026, Amex will be contributing an additional $1 to the Amex Shop Small Grants program, up to $1 million, providing up to 50 additional grants of $20,000 each.**
Amex Shop Small Grant applications are currently open until 6 September 2026.
