How Freo spearheads stick tight through thick and thin

Jye Amiss has opened up about the support and love between Fremantle's three big key forwards, saying they never lost faith in each other in the wake of their disappointing displays against Hawthorn.

The Dockers booked their preliminary final spot against Sydney after defeating Geelong by 14 points in a semi-final classic.

A big focus heading into the do-or-die clash against the Cats was the collective form of Amiss, Josh Treacy and Pat Voss after they had combined for just two goals in the 32-point qualifying final loss to Hawthorn.

The trio answered in resounding fashion in front of a sellout crowd at Optus Stadium on Friday night.

Voss kicked four goals and did an excellent negating role on star Geelong defender Tom Stewart, who was restricted to just 15 possessions and one intercept mark.

Stewart averages almost eight intercept possessions per match, but he was restricted to four on Friday night.

Treacy was like a battering ram on the way to eight marks - including three contested grabs - and one goal.

Even being crunched by giant teammate Mason Cox couldn't stop Treacy from having an important influence on the match.

And Amiss popped up in important moments to finish with two goals and a goal assist.

Amiss said he, Voss and Treacy made sure to stick tight in the wake of the loss to Hawthorn.

"But how we review it, everything's internal. We speak to the right people about it.

"We always support each other, no matter what. And that's been the mentality all year.

"We know that playing with three big boys up forward, one person's going to have their night and the others might be a bit quieter.

"But we're happy with that as long as everyone's committed to their role and helping each other."
