A young swimmer has died after being pulled unresponsive from the water on the NSW Mid North Coast.
The man was swimming with two others off Saltwater Beach, about 18km southeast of Taree, when the trio got into trouble about 1.45pm on Sunday.
Emergency services and surf lifesavers helped all three men, who are aged in their 20s, from the water.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The tragedy comes just a day after another swimmer died after being pulled unresponsive from the water at Cabarita Beach on the Tweed Coast.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was found in the water about 12.30pm on Saturday and later died at Tweed Valley Hospital.
