Wayne Rooney blasts weight-loss jab speculation and reveals how he has transformed his body
Wayne Rooney has blasted speculation he has been using a weight-loss pen to shed pounds.
The former pro footballer, 40, insisted he has been "working really hard to lose weight" recently, and says he hasn't turned to medication to achieve his physical transformation.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "Apparently I've seen recently I've been taking this pen thing about me.
"It's a shame, because I'm working really hard to lose weight. Apparently I've been on the pen.'
Wayne's wife, Coleen Rooney, said: "I thought you were gonna say then, my nose wasn't a cosmetic job, it was a medical job!"
The former England star recently admitted he went under the knife to fix his nose after previously breaking it twice during his career.
And Coleen has confirmed she persuaded Wayne to have the operation, partly to improve his snoring.
Wayne explained: "I couldn't blow one side out of my nose and so I had it fixed."
Like Wayne, Coleen told how she also works hard to maintain her weight.
She explained: "It's one of those things, I have to go to the gym to maintain because I'm only short, I want to enjoy my food.
"If I don't work at it I will put weight on and so that's something I have to do for myself, and to feel good, so I do go to Pilates.
"I enjoy it and for now for me to just focus on something else, that's always been part of my routine."
Earlier this month, Wayne admitted his marriage with Coleen - who he wed in 2008, after six years of dating - is "not always easy".
As quoted by Closer magazine, Wayne said: "There's times we've been arguing, and I think that's important to put in. In truth, behind closed doors, it's not perfect.
