Ferrari CZ26 one-off reimagines the SF90 with straighter lines

The CZ26 is the latest one-off commission from Ferrari , and it made its in-the-flesh public debut at the 2026 Monterey Car Week.

Based on the plug-in hybrid SF90 Stradale, the CZ26 was commissioned by a client in the US and its design was overseen by Flavio Mazoni, who has been Ferrari's chief design officer since 2010.

While the one-off model doesn't change the SF90 silhouette, the CZ26 has a completely unique exterior design. The SF90's soft, flowing lines have largely been replaced by squarer details and flatter surfaces.

According to Ferrari, the CZ26's styling draws upon "the most significant examples of Italian industrial design from the 1970s".

The front end is dominated by a full-width grille, the upper portion of which is finished in glossy black plastic and serves to hide the car's new slimline headlight units.

While the pointy beak and protruding splitter are pointers to the SF90 underpinnings, the front-end design seems to be inspired by the Luce, Ferrari's first EV, which has been dividing opinions not only because of its drivetrain, but also its design.

The CZ26's slabbier doors have a prominent shoulder line, and the new alloy wheels mix a gloss black finish in the centre with shot-peened surfaces on the outer edges. The air intake on the rear fender is even more noticeable now thanks to its red (Rosso Lampante) highlight.

As with the front, a full-width band of glossy black plastic hides the tail-lights, while the full-width diffuser is more rectangular in nature.

Like other one-off models, the CZ26 features a far less dramatic overhaul for the cabin, with the main changes being the swathes of technical fabric covering the dashboard, Rosso Lampante highlights on the seats, and body colour elements on the doors and instrument binnacle.

Under the skin the CZ26 is pure SF90 Stradale, including the plug-in hybrid drivetrain that makes a total of 735kW. There's a 586kW/804Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 living behind the passenger compartment, and three electric motors making a combined 162kW.

The V8 is hooked up to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the electric motors are connected to a 7.9kWh battery that provides an EV driving range of up to 25km.

Ferrari claims the SF90 Stradale can race from 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds, pass the double century in 6.7s, and hit a top speed of 328km/h.
