Madelyn Cline felt 'scared' about Day Drinker, but why?

The 28-year-old actress stars alongside Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in Day Drinker, the upcoming action thriller film, and Madelyn has admitted to having mixed feelings about appearing in the movie.

Asked about potentially the most consequential role of her career, Madelyn told The Hollywood Reporter: "I was scared.

"I knew it was going to challenge and push me, that it was something that I had not done before. But I was very determined. I was ready for it."

Madelyn has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years, starring in movies such as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. But the actress admits that she's still adjusting to the pressures of fame and success.

Madelyn explained: "It’s like, here you go, here I am, on a silver platter. There’s no acclimation. No time wasted."

The actress still feels bothered by online scrutiny she faces. But she now accepts that it's part and parcel of working in Hollywood.

She said: "I’ve become a little numb to it, my skin has gotten thicker, but I don’t think it will ever not bother me when my body or my looks are scrutinised.

"There’s just so much noise, so many people talking, so many people who have opinions about me. I don’t think anybody is ready for that. There’s nothing like it."

Madelyn previously starred alongside Daniel Craig, Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, and Jada Pinkett Smith in Knives Out 2, the 2022 murder mystery movie.

The actress explained that she relished spending time with the film's star-studded cast.

She said on The Tonight Show: "I’m filming the sequel to Knives Out, and I’m very, very excited about it.

"I’m just going to be completely honest with you, it’s the most mind-blowing, terrifying experience ever. You know how you have moments in life where you just look around, and you look at life, and you’re like, ‘How in the s*** did I get here?'"

The movie star shared: "I feel very lucky, but I walk onto set everyday and it feels like a miniature existential crisis, because I’m working with people I’ve looked up to for my entire life. And now I’m getting to work alongside them, and they’re phenomenal people, but it’s a bit of a … It’s terrifying, but it’s also incredible. It’s super-amazing; it’s the experience of a lifetime."
