2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class prices: Facelift brings more affordable entry-level model to Australia

The facelifted Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be offered in two model grades in Australia, with a new V8-powered S580 joining the range-topping V12 S680 .

The updated range is due in Australia during the first quarter (January to March) of 2027.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has confirmed the new Mercedes-Maybach S580 will be priced from $517,900 before on-road costs.

It's powered by an ‘M177 Evo’ 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine producing 395kW and 750Nm, supported by a 17kW/205Nm integrated starter-generator as part of a 48V mild-hybrid system.

The V8 is also used in the regular S-Class , while earlier versions of the M177 engine family power Aston Martin’s DB12 coupe and DBX SUV.

The Evo version gains a flat-plane crankshaft and revised fuel-injection system, among other changes designed to meet stricter Euro 7 emissions regulations.

The Maybach S680 will remain the flagship of the German brand’s sedan range, priced from $582,428 before on-road costs – an increase of $5828.

It retains its 463kW/900Nm twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine, nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Despite featuring more power, torque and cylinders, it has the same 0-100km/h sprint time as the S580 at 4.5 seconds.

The revised Maybach lineup follows the significantly updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class range on which it's based, which is due to arrive in Australia in November 2026.

The Maybach models receive the same core changes, including a 20 per cent larger front grille and revised front and rear styling, with star-shaped elements in the ‘digital’ headlights and new tail-light graphics.

The headlights use micro-LED technology to provide a claimed 40 per cent larger field of illumination than the previous units, with the high beams offering a range of up to 600 metres.

New front and rear bumpers increase overall length by 14mm to 5484mm, while Maybach-specific 20-inch alloy wheels, rear-wheel steering of up to 4.5 degrees and air suspension are standard.
