Third man charged after fatal shooting of Joshua MacDonald, 40, in Merrylands West
A third person is facing charges over the death of a man who was shot in the driveway of his west Sydney home.
On September 2, tradie Joshua MacDonald, 40, was gunned down outside his home in Bruce Street, Merrylands West, in what police believe to have been a case of mistaken identity.
Two people – an 18-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman – are facing charges in relation to his death.
On Thursday police arrested and charged a third person following a raid on a home in Pemulwuy.
The 21-year-old man was charged with murder, participating in a criminal group, contributing to criminal activity and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction.
Detectives will accuse the 21-yerar-old of having assisted the alleged gunman in making a getaway from the scene – driving him to and from the vehicles before the shooting.
It will further be alleged that he transported individuals who destroyed the vehicle following the shooting.
The suspect was arrested at 6am on Thursday and led away by police in a light grey jumper, worn with the hood up and dark grey waffle print tracksuit bottoms.
He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today and was refused bail.
