Incident at CFB Wainwright base in Alberta caused a ‘major fire’ that is spreading to the nearby town because of strong winds People have been killed and injured after an incident at one of Canada’s busiest military training bases in Alberta caused a large fire, Canada’s defence minister said Saturday.

“I’m saddened to share that there have been both fatalities and injuries as a result of an incident on the base,” defence minister David McGuinty said at a press conference on Saturday night.
