Former top-10 pick Chayce Jones among three Crows axed after semi-final loss

Adelaide have confirmed a further three list changes in the wake of their season coming to an end in last week’s semi-final loss to Brisbane.

On top of Taylor Walker’s retirement , the Crows have announced Chayce Jones, Lachlan Sholl and Tyler Welsh have all been delisted.

Jones, who was taken with pick No.9 in 2018 draft, managed just three games this year to bring his career total to exactly 100.

The 26-year-old is originally from Tasmania and looms as a potential recruit for the Devils when they enter the competition in 2028.

“A great personality around the club and always a team-first person, Chayce will certainly be missed,” list manager Jarryd Roughead said.

“Eight years anywhere is always something to be commended and to whatever comes next for Chayce and his family, we wish him well.”

Sholl, 25, failed to add to his 79 career games this year. The classy winger had his best season in 2024 when he played 20 games to finish in the top 10 of the best and fairest.

“We will miss having Sholly around the club, someone who was always a positive energy in the corridors at West Lakes,” Roughead said.

“His dedication and commitment across the past eight seasons is something any player can be proud of.”

Welsh, son of former Crow Scott, never played a senior game in his two years at the club.

“We wish all three players the very best for the future,” Roughead added.

Meanwhile, youngster Charlie Edwards is hopeful of earning a fresh deal after some “honest” conversations in his exit interview.

The 31-year-old lost his place in the team to Lachie McAndrew, but still has two years remaining on his contract.
