7You reviews: Augustinus Bader Geranium Rose Body Cream - so is it worth the exorbitant price tag?
Show me a face cream that’s $200 or even $300 and I’ll say, pass me my wallet.
But for some reason, when it comes to body moisturisers, I’ve always fallen in to the lazy ‘this old cream will do’ mentality. Until now.
This month, I’ve had the privilege of road-testing Augustinus Bader’s highly luxurious, exorbitantly expensive Geranium Rose Body Cream ($328; 200mL) — and I can safely say I will never go back to anything less.
Never before have my limbs felt soft to the touch, the wrinkly bits around my knees and elbows smoothed, and the tell-tale signs of birthing two beautiful girls been somewhat minimised.
Put simply, it’s love. Below, my full review of the extremely expensive product. Apologies in advance you’re going to want to try this one.
If you’ve heard of Professor Augustinus Bader, you’ve probably already heard about the multi-award-winning Cream, a wrinkle-fighting moisturiser that pioneered moisturisers to do more, and has since garnered a legion of fans from Margot Robbie to Victoria Beckham.
Now, the German stem-cell researcher has turned his attention to the body, first launching the Body Cream, and now the special Geranium Rose Body Cream edition ($328).
With the same patented TFC8 that the face cream is famous for, the body cream boasts a blend of vitamins, lipids, and high-performing, proprietary peptides that will smooth and work to resurface the skin, resulting in a smoother, tighter complexion.
Powered by over 35 years of research, the cream is rich in texture and rich in ingredients.
Trials of the product are unanimously positive, with some 97 per cent agreeing that their skin’s tone and texture looks dramatically transformed, and 96 per cent saying their skin is firmer, more lifted, supple and elastic.
The product claims that it will help to reduce cellulite and stretch marks, visibly firm and smooth texture for softer, more supple skin and deeply hydrate and lock in moisture for plump skin with greater bounceback.
I’ve been using this body cream for the past two weeks and have already noticed a difference in the feel and look of my skin.
The first thing to flag about the moisturiser is that it isn’t a pain to put on.
All too often, I end up skipping my body moisturiser, as they are either too greasy, oily or just uncomfortable to either sit down or go to bed after applying.
