Centimetre Perfect: Dennis Cometti feature-length documentary premieres on Wednesday, September 23 on Seven and 7plus

The Seven Network is set to premiere the feature-length documentary Centimetre Perfect, honouring the life and career of beloved Australian broadcasting icon Dennis Cometti.

A Seven Sport production more than 12 months in the making, Dennis Cometti: Centimetre Perfect premieres exclusively on Seven and 7plus during AFL grand final week on Wednesday, September 23 at 8.30pm.

Cometti transformed the art of sports commentary across an extraordinary career spanning more than four decades, combining wit, warmth, impeccable timing and an unmistakable turn of phrase to create a language all his own.

This documentary brings together the people who witnessed, shared and helped shape his remarkable journey: Mark Cometti reflects on growing up as Dennis’ son; Olympic champions Kieren Perkins and Susie O’Neill speak about his unique ability to capture the emotion of elite sport.

Broadcasting royalty and AFL legends including Bruce McAvaney, Eddie McGuire, Sandy Roberts, Basil Zempilas, Nick Riewoldt, Chris Judd and Bob Murphy also provide insight into both Cometti the man and the genius behind the microphone.

Through never-before-told stories, memorable calls, laughter and tears, Dennis Cometti: Centimetre Perfect explores the career, creativity and character of the man who made millions of Australians feel as though they were sitting beside him at the game.

It is an unmissable tribute to a broadcaster whose unmistakably dulcet tones did not simply describe Australian sport but became part of its soundtrack.
