Two charged with murder after remains found in search for missing Queensland man

A four-year missing persons investigation has taken a grim turn, with two people now charged with murder after police found human remains at a Bethania property.

Police say the remains were uncovered on Monday during a search of a home on Old Trafford Rd, Bethania, as detectives continued investigating the disappearance of a 46-year-old Beenleigh man who was reported missing in March 2022.

The discovery marks a major development in a case that has remained under investigation for years.

A 52-year-old Bethania man and a 45-year-old Windaroo woman have each been charged with murder and interfering with a corpse.
