The internet’s strangest food combinations have been put to the ultimate taste test, but do they really taste like what social media claims?

From apple and cheese supposedly mimicking apple pie to lemon and cinnamon creating the flavour of cola, content creators are swearing by a series of unlikely pairings.

The Morning Show food editor Kaitlin Peek joined hosts Larry Emdur and Sally Bowrey to try six viral combinations, including grapes and peanuts or strawberries and balsamic vinegar for a chocolate-like flavour.

They also tested whether soy sauce drizzled over ice cream tastes like caramel - before finishing with sugar sprinkled over cucumber, which is said to transform into watermelon.

The results were mixed, leaving viewers to decide whether the viral combinations live up to the hype.
