How to watch the Four’N Twenty Legends Game live and free on Seven and 7plus

The Four’N Twenty Legends Game for prostate cancer kicks off tonight (Thursday, August 27) with a long list of AFL greats dusting off the boots and set to go head to head (see the full teams below) .

Kicking off from 7pm AEST, fans can watch all the action live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport with star commentator Brian Taylor certain to give a unique and hilarious take and what promises to be an evening of top-notch entertainment.

Taylor will be joined Matthew Richardson, Rebecca Maddern, Sarah Hosking and Andy Maher in the commentary box, while former AFL greats Billy Brownless and Robert DiPierdomenico (Australian football’s most iconic boundary riders) will once again join the team for Seven’s broadcast.

Headlined by some of the greatest players to play the game (such as Dustin Martin, Lance Franklin and Gary Ablett Jnr), the event aims to raise much needed awareness and funds for prostate cancer through the Australian Prostate Centre.

Following the Legends Game, the AFL finals football come alive on Friday night with the newly introduced AFL Wildcard Round.

Friday Night Footy will see the Western Bulldogs take on Collingwood live from the MCG, in a do-or-die clash to see who progresses to an elimination final.

Seven’s commentary team will be live from the packed MCG to cover all the action from 7pm AEST, with James Brayshaw and Alister Nicholson calling, Abbey Holmes hosting, Dale Thomas and Matthew Richardson as experts, as well as Xander McGuire from 7NEWS all on deck for the huge match.

Then, the finals action continues on Saturday night, as the MCG hosts another blockbuster clash between Melbourne and Carlton.

With two powerhouse Victorian clubs facing off in front of another expected bumper crowd, Seven’s all-star lineup for the match will be led by callers Brian Taylor and Hamish McLachlan, hosted by Rebecca Maddern, joined by experts Luke Hodge, Kane Cornes, Nick Riewoldt as well as 7NEWS chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport from 7pm AEST.

Gary O’Keeffe, Seven’s head of AFL and sport Innovation, said the Legends Game had been “overwhelming success” in 2025 and ranked among the highest-rating games of the AFL season.

“The 2026 event will once again bring together some of the biggest names in footy while raising vital funds for prostate cancer research, before the inaugural AFL Wildcard Finals kick off the following night and the race for the premiership heats up,” O’Keeffe said.

“With Dustin Martin and Buddy Franklin joining an incredible line-up of footy legends, this year’s event promises to deliver even more excitement, fun and entertainment for fans, as we head into a huge weekend of finals football on Seven and 7plus Sport.

“With a star-studded commentary team of footy favourites to entertain from the pre-game right through to the final siren of the Legends Game, before the Wildcard Finals take centre stage on Friday and Saturday night with a stellar commentary line-up for both games, Seven and 7plus is the only place fans can catch all three games this week, live and free.”
