Ex-Socceroo Mile Sterjovski’s coaching tenure at Macarthur FC comes to a shock end

Former Socceroo Mile Sterjovski’s tenure as Macarthur FC coach has come to a sudden end.

The Bulls announced on Tuesday morning that Sterjovski has parted ways with the club after a mutual termination of his contract.

Sterjovski’s departure comes despite the new A-League season not starting until October.

His final competitive game in charge of the Bulls a week ago when Macarthur suffered a shock Australia Cup round-of-16 loss – via a penalty shootout – to NPL NSW club Southern Districts Raiders.

“Macarthur Bulls FC would like to thank Mile for his hard work, dedication and contribution throughout his time at the club and wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career,” the club said in a statement.

“The club is hopeful of appointing a new head coach in the coming days,”

Sterjovski was appointed coach of the Bulls’ A-League team in January 2023 after a stint in charge of the club’s academy team.

In March last year, he had his contract extended until the end of the 2027-28 A-League season.

The 47-year-old mentor guided Macarthur to Australia Cup glory in 2024.
