Hipcamp’s 2026 Awards: Six WA properties recognised among Australia’s best camping spots

Spring has well and truly sprung and is set to provide some ideal camping weather and wildflower spotting before the hot summer months set in.

If you’re in need of some inspiration for where to set up camp next, look no further, as Hipcamp has hosted its 2026 camping awards with six WA properties recognised among Australia’s best escapes.

Hipcamp, often described as the Airbnb for camping, analysed bookings, ratings, and reviews across more than 500,000 campsites to come up with the winners.

From a century-old working farm to a Margaret River vineyard and a secluded lakeside stay, there is something for everyone from rookie campers to experienced caravanners.

A Wheatbelt farm, a river and karri camping getaway and a family option also made it into the mix.

A 3000-acre working beef cattle and Merino property in the Darling Range that has been in the same family since 1926.

Campsites sit privately along Dirk Brook, so it is a genuine working-farm stay rather than a campground dressed up to look rural.

A 100-acre working farm on the Warren River, surrounded by giant karri forest, with cattle and truffles grown on the property.

It is a particularly strong pick for people wanting a secluded, genuinely off-grid South West escape.

Camping among the vines at a family-owned 50-acre Margaret River winery, around 10 minutes from town.

Campers can stay right on the vineyard and head into the cellar door for a complimentary tasting.

A deliberately tiny, secluded stay deep in the South West forest, with just two campsites and an off-grid glamping dome overlooking a private lake.

One of the more intimate and visually distinctive stays among the WA winners.

A 150-acre nature-based camping property around 1.5 hours from Perth, with large creekside sites, hot showers and toilets, plus cattle and sheep on the farm.
