‘Justice will be served’: Woman breaks silence over Swans scandal

An adult entertainer who was in a Melbourne hotel room with Sydney Swans players in the early hours of Monday morning says she wants justice to be served.

The woman was in a room at the Pullman East Melbourne with five players, where she claims she was sexually assaulted.

Swans star Isaac Heeney is the focus of the investigation by Victoria Police’s sexual crimes squad. It involves an allegation of touching beyond what was agreed.

Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, Riley Bice and James Jordon were suspended by their AFL club on Wednesday for breaching behavioural standards by staying out late, drinking and inviting women back to their hotel room.

The players have issued a statement apologising for breaching the Swans’ standards. But according to a source with knowledge of their position they have denied criminal wrongdoing.

The woman reportedly told the Herald Sun : “I don’t want money. All I care about is justice.

“I’m going to stand up for what is right. And I’m never going to let this happen to anyone else. Justice will be served.

“I care about women’s rights and what’s right, because this happens too often to women and they get away with it.”

The alleged victim also reportedly said she could not go into detail about the incident, but that it had left her fearing for her safety.

In addition to the Swans players present in the hotel room, this masthead has previously reported that two other men, who are yet to be publicly identified but are not current players, were also there. The alleged victim told the Herald Sun that there had been nine men in the hotel room. The club has previously said there were no other Swans players present.

Earlier on Thursday, two sources familiar with the police investigation, but not authorised to speak publicly, alleged that there were drugs in the hotel room . However, it was not suggested the Swans teammates were responsible for the drugs being there, or that they took them.
