Taylor Lautner and wife Tay considering naming their first child Taylor: ‘It may be in the mix’
Taylor Lautner and his wife Tay haven’t ruled out naming their first baby Taylor, with fears they might be “cancelled” if they don’t.
The couple, who got married in 2022, are expecting a baby girl soon, and on Wednesday Tay opened up about her pregnancy on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.
Cooper asked if there had been “any consideration of naming your child Taylor?”
“It may be in the mix,” Tay replied. “We will find out when the baby comes.”
Tay said fans were in support of the pair naming their newborn after themselves and had been feeling “so much pressure naming a human”.
“I feel like if I don’t name my baby Taylor, the internet’s literally going to cancel me,” she said.
If they don’t end up picking the name Taylor, they have another three to five names to choose from.
After revealing the baby’s gender in June, Tay said they did have a plan for a name if the baby was a boy.
“We used to always joke that if we’re having a boy, we’d name him Taylor and call him TJ,” she said.
Tay said it felt like a “weight had been lifted” after sharing her pregnancy news in March.
“I think I was just so stressed someone was going to leak it, honestly,” she told Cooper.
“I think I was a little scarred from our wedding because someone photographed us having our first look. It came out the day after the wedding, and that was the first time it was really something that was so intimate.”
It comes after the couple celebrated their little girl at a pink baby shower of her dreams earlier this month.
A glowing Tay was pictured standing in a garden surrounded by flowers, wearing a dusty pink dress while the Twilight star embraced her baby bump.
