Tobey Maguire's ex Jennifer Meyer explains why he officiated her wedding

Tobey Maguire's ex-wife Jennifer Meyer has explained why the actor officiated her wedding.

The Spider-Man star split from the jewellery designer Jennifer a decade ago and their divorce was finalised last month, six years after they filed to end their union, and Tobey played a key role when Jennifer married music manager Geoffrey Ogunlesi in Hawaii on October 10.

Jennifer has now admitted having her ex-husband preside over the ceremony was an unusual move but it suited them "perfectly". She told Vogue magazine: "I genuinely felt like I was floating on cloud nine. I had zero jitters, just pure happiness.

"Having our three children and our parents walk down the aisle made it even more special. And having Tobey, my ex-husband, officiate was so special. A little unconventional, but so perfectly us ...

"The wedding was so heartfelt, so full of love, and somehow even more magical than I could have imagined. To be in Hawaii, surrounded by the people we love most, marrying the love of my life … I’m still pinching myself. It was perfect in every way."

She added of her big day: "There was so much dancing, so much laughter, and just pure joy everywhere you looked. Having all of our favourite people together on this magical little island, dancing and celebrating with us all night, was beyond anything I could have imagined ...

Jennifer previously opened up about staying close to her ex Tobey following their split - revealing the former couple wanted to remain on good terms for the sake of their children.

She told PEOPLE: "When Tobey and I broke up, it was very clear immediately that Ruby and Otis came first, and we really cared about each other as people, and we wanted to be in each other’s lives no matter what.

"And we didn’t want to miss a Christmas. We didn’t want to miss a Thanksgiving.

"We travel all together. We have every holiday together. We have every birthday all together. He is an incredible father. He is an incredible ex-husband. And Geoff loves him and he loves Geoff. And so everything just works."
