Beau Lamarre-Condon: Jury shown ex-police officer’s alleged lead-up to murders

Beau Lamarre-Condon: Jury shown ex-police officer’s alleged lead-up to murders

New details have emerged during the trial of Beau Lamarre-Condon revealing his social media footprint in the lead-up to the alleged double murders and CCTV of the days before his ex-partner was shot dead.

Lamarre-Condon sat in the Supreme Court in Sydney on Thursday for the fourth day of his trial, accused of murdering 26-year-old Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies, 29, at Baird’s home in Paddington on February 19, 2024.

The Baird and Davies families became emotional on Thursday as the jury was shown some of the 14,000 hours of police footage for the case.

The CCTV includes Westfield Miranda where Lamarre-Condon was seen at sports store Decathlon — sizing up and buying a blue surfboard bag — which prosecutors claim was used to dispose of the men’s bodies at Bungonia in the Southern Tablelands.

Vision was also played from Balmain police station, showing Lamarre-Condon taking the alleged murder weapon from a lock-up.

Two former female friends also told the jury on Thursday that Lamarre-Condon asked them to source another gun just three months earlier.

One of the women claims she even reported the conversation to police following the alleged double murder.

The jury on Thursday heard extensive details of Lamarre-Condon’s social media posts and messages in the lead-up to the alleged shootings.

Both the Crown and Lamarre-Condon’s defence agree Baird and the now-former police officer had been in an on-and-off relationship throughout the year prior.

While the defence argues the deaths of Baird and Davies was due to Lamarre-Condon acting in self-defence, the Crown’s case is that he had become obsessed with Baird after they split in November and planned the alleged double murder.

Friends and colleagues of Baird told the court that he did not want a serious relationship with Lamarre-Condon and during their relationship had begun speaking with another man, whom he began casually dating shortly after the separation.

That man told the court on Wednesday that Lamarre-Condon added him to his “Close Friends” list on Instagram in November despite only meeting him briefly earlier that year and rarely speaking afterward.

Stories only visible to the private list — which Baird was not on — showed Lamarre-Condon sharing videos of him and his ex-partner at a concert with an emoji of hands making a heart symbol, despite the couple having broken up.
