Man bitten by shark at Western Australian beach

A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a shark attack at a remote beach.

Emergency services responded to Glenfield Beach, north of Geraldton in Western Australia's Midwest, shortly after 9.45am (11.45am AEST) on Monday.

The man, who is in his 50s, was taken to Geraldton Health Campus for treatment.

A spokesperson confirmed the man was brought to the hospital with a shark bite and was in a serious but stable condition.
