Duo charged with murder after human remains found in box after years-long search for Chad Bishop
A man and a woman will front court accused of murder after human remains were found during investigations into a man who has been missing for years .
Police allegedly located human remains while executing a search warrant at a home on Old Trafford Rd in Bethania, Logan, on Monday.
They allege the discovery was found in relation to investigations into the disappearance of Chad Bishop.
Bishop was last seen at a home in Beenleigh in March 2022. He was 46 years old at the time and had not been heard from since.
“Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he has a medical condition and his disappearance is out of character,” police said at the time.
A 52-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman have since been charged with one count each of murder and interfering with a corpse.
They were expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday while officers continued to scour through the Bethania property.
The 7NEWS helicopter captured footage of police searching through the home’s backyard littered with rubbish.
Detectives were particularly focused on a hole dug underneath what appears to be play equipment in the yard, with one officer taking images of point of interest.
