Two women charged in connection with Cumberland stabbing
The Ottawa Police Service has charged two women in connection with a Cumberland stabbing last month.
Jazmine Justin Gauthier, 45, and Grace Croft, 22, both from Ottawa, are facing assault charges following an Aug. 28, 2026, “disturbance” at a residence on Peter Harkness Lane, police said in a news release. Police say two people were found inside the residence with “non-life-threatening injuries” as a result of a dispute.
Gauthier is facing four charges including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and with carrying a concealed weapon.

Croft has been charged with causing bodily harm and two counts of assault.
Ottawa paramedics, with the help of medics from Prescott and Russell, responded to a call at around 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 28. Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps said.
“The patient was an adult male who sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” Deschamps said. “He was stabilized on scene and was transported to the hospital where he was in stable condition.”
Deschamps says Ottawa paramedics were not responsible for treating the second patient with minor injuries, who was on scene.
