Optimism swirls around massive critical metal deposit near Tisdale, Sask., but locals still have questions

Canadian Energy Metals plans to construct a demonstration plant in Tisdale to refine alumina, the critical metal used to create aluminum.

The plant could be up and running by 2029 or 2030.

The company's CEO says it will eventually look to purchase land in the area for open-pit mining operations.
