Ottawa police looking for teen last seen at Tunney's Pasture station

The Ottawa police would like the public’s help as they search for 13-year-old Nakita Morris-Copenace, who went missing on Aug. 16.

She was last seen Sunday at about 11 p.m. at the Tunney’s Pasture LRT station.

Morris-Copenace was described as an Indigenous female with a medium build, standing about 5-7 and weighing approximately 120 pounds. She has shoulder-length black hair with pink on one side and blond tips on the other side. Her left arm has scarring on it, police said in a news release on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

When last seen, she was wearing a black Nike hooded sweater, black Nike sweatpants with a hole at the knee and white Nike shoes. She was also wearing a dark-coloured New York Yankees baseball cap and a gold pull-string-style bracelet with a diamond on her right hand.

According to police, Morris-Copenace is known to often be at locations downtown — particularly the Rideau Centre and the ByWard Market.

Anyone with information her whereabouts was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222, extension 7300.
