LB Von Miller signs with home-state Cowboys
A native of the Lone Star State, the veteran linebacker is expected to sign with the Dallas Cowboys, per ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.
Miller, 37, is from DeSoto, Texas, and played college football at Texas AM.
The eight-time pro bowler and seven-time all-pro joins the Cowboys after a one-year stint with another NFC East team, the Washington Commanders, racking up nine sacks (his most since 2021), 15 QB hits and 16 solo tackles.
Miller has been one of the NFL's top sack-getters since he was drafted second overall by the Denver Broncos in 2011. He currently ranks tied for ninth all-time in total sacks with 138.5 over 203 regular-season games and is within striking distance of Michael Strahan, who sits sixth with 141.5.
His career has been split between the Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and Commanders.
The two-time champ and Super Bowl 50 MVP now prepares for Year 15 with his home-state Cowboys on the heels of his healthiest season in nearly a decade. With 17 appearances (three starts) in 2025, it marked Miller's first campaign without missing a game since 2018.
As for the Cowboys, they're looking to bounce back from a 7-9-1 season — which came after trading away star linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers — and missed the playoffs for a second consecutive season.
