Pedestrian dies after collision with school bus in southwest Calgary
Calgary police are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian and a school bus that resulted in the pedestrian’s death.
The collision ocurred around 3 p.m. on Sept. 17, near the intersection of 162nd Avenue and 6th Street S.W. The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was transported to hospital as a precaution with what officials believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Her condition deteriorated to life-threatening condition, and on Tuesday morning, police announced she died as a result of the injuries.
The Calgary Police Service traffic section is invesitating the collision, and while it is too early to determine whether impairment, speed or distraction contributed, all are being investigated.
