Missing Walter Cup found, returned to PWHL-champion Montreal Victoire

The PWHL championship trophy has been recovered and returned to the Montreal Victoire after being lost in transit late last week.

"Breaking news: Turns out Walter needed a little rest after all the celebrations," the Victoire posted on social media on Monday. "Don’t worry, she’s been found, got some much-needed rest, and is ready to hit the road!"

The trophy, which is a replica that belongs to the team, went missing while in transit to Lethbridge, Alta., for a celebration with forward Dara Greig, the AP reported last week.

The trophy “did not arrive as expected at its latest stop," the PWHL told the AP. "We are working closely with the shipping company to locate it."

The original Walter Cup is housed in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The trophy is named after PWHL founders and financiers Mark and Kimbra Walter.
