Rock League finalizes schedule for first full season, nixes Halifax stop

The professional curling league, which debuted with a one-week tournament in April, will begin its five-week 2027 season Jan. 7 in Moose Jaw, Sask., it announced on Thursday.

Two more weeks of action will take place in the winter, with the league headed to Utica, N.Y., Jan. 28-31 and Ottawa Feb. 4-7.

Competition then picks back up April 8-11 in Red Deer, Alta., before the league crowns its second champion April 15-18 in Kalamazoo, Mich.

A previously announced stop in Halifax will no longer take place "to better support its athletes' commitments throughout the curling season and ensure a more sustainable calendar," per Rock League.

Led by Canadian two-time Olympic champion Brad Jacobs, Shield Curling Club won the inaugural Rock League title in Toronto at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.

Live coverage of select Thursday and Friday Rock League matches throughout the season will be available on Sportsnet.
