Toronto FC’s Niklas Dorsch undergoes surgery for facial fracture
After just three games in Toronto, it's unclear when Niklas Dorsch will return to the pitch.
The TFC midfielder underwent surgery to repair a facial fracture on Thursday, the team announced on Friday.
Dorsch suffered the injury in the 91st minute of Wednesday's 3-3 draw with Charlotte FC. He was hit in the cheekbone after scoring the late equalizer.
TFC signed the 28-year-old on July 28 to a contract through 2030-31. He made the move to the MLS after playing his entire career in Germany.
Dorsch has already scored two goals with the Reds, including a long-range game winner against New England Revolution on Aug. 15.
