Canadiens sign veteran forward Chris Kreider to 1-year deal

Free agent forward Chris Kreider has signed a one-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens.

The team made the announcement on Saturday but did not disclose financial details.

Kreider and the Anaheim Ducks mutually agreed to have his contract terminated on Wednesday, allowing Montreal to sign him.

Kreider only played one season in Anaheim, having been traded from the New York Rangers in June 2025.

He has 348 goals and 284 assists over 958 games played with the Rangers and the Ducks.
