The full list of 700 retaliatory tariffs Canada is imposing on the U.S.

Over 700 American products are set to be tariffed by Canada as the trade war between the two nations continues to escalate.

Effective 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, Canada will impose 15, 25 and 50 per cent counter -tariffs on products drawn from those targeted by the U.S.’s Section 338 and Section 232 tariffs, equaling $27.6 billion in imports from the U.S.

Sectors such as steel, dairy, appliances, agricultural equipment, pulp and paper, and electronics, which are most impacted by U.S. tariffs, will be targeted.

Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne, Industry Minister Mélanie Joly, Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu and Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon gathered in Ottawa Tuesday morning to reveal the details of Canada’s plan to respond to U.S. President Donald Trump’s 50 per cent tariffs.

Trade talks between the neighbouring countries fell apart late Friday night, following which Prime Minister Mark Carney said Ottawa would be retaliating with “dollar-for-dollar” tariffs.

Here is the list of American goods that will be impacted by the Canadian government’s counter-tariffs:

Interchangeable tools for hand tools, whether or not power-operated, or for machine-tools (for example, for pressing, stamping, punching, tapping, threading, drilling, boring, broaching, milling, turning or screw driving), including dies for drawing or extruding metal, and rock drilling or earth boring tools. (Dies for drawing or extruding metal, tools for pressing, stamping or punching)

Air conditioning machines, comprising a motor-driven fan and elements for changing the temperature and humidity, including those machines in which the humidity cannot be separately regulated.

Fort-lift trucks; other works trucks fitted with lifting or handling equipment

Other lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery (for example, escalators, conveyors, teleferics

Parts suitable for use solely or principally with the machinery of headings 84.25 to 84.30

Harvesting or threshing machinery, including straw or fodder balers; grass or hay mowers; machines for cleaning, sorting or grading eggs, fruit or other agricultural produce, other than machinery of heading 84.37

Moulding boxes for metal foundry; mould bases; moulding patterns; moulds for metal (other than ingot moulds), metal carbides, glass, mineral materials, rubber or plastics
